First Aid Course Information

COURSE OVERVIEW

Under Health & Safety Regulations, all organisations must ensure by law that they have a sufficient number of employees that possess a first aid qualification in order to fulfil their first aid needs at all times. Employers must ensure that their provision is ‘adequate and appropriate in the circumstances.’

It is the employer’s responsibility to decide what the requirements of the organisation are by assessing any specific work hazards and ensuring that sufficient equipment, facilities and personnel are available to deal with the consequences of these hazards.

Who is the course for?

The Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

A pre-requisite to SIA Licence linked qualifications

In order to attend either the SIA SIA Door Supervision or SIA Security Guarding course, you must hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course satisfies this requirement.

On confirmation of your booking you will be sent login details and instructions on how to access your 'self-study'.

The 'self-study' unit takes approx 2 hours to complete and is completed 'by you' prior to attending the 'face to face portion of the course.

What is the 'self-study'?

We use Highfields First Aid e-learning for this course as they make the most complex of subjects easier to digest through media and content-rich exercises that motivate and engage learners. They also use interactive exercises and gaming combined with media-rich content, interactive scenarios, and relevant photography and illustrations and the content is provided by industry-leading experts.

On completion of your 'self-study' session you will be provided with a electronic certificate. This certificate is evidence of you completing the unit and so therefore 'must' be either emailed to us directly (before the course) or be brought along with you on the day of the 'face to face' session.

NOTE: Failure to complete your 'self-study' will result in you being turned away from the session and you forfeiting your course fees. This is because the arrangements and costs have already been occurred, therefore, PLEASE ensure that this is completed 'PRIOR' to attendance.
